Hello! I’m Jessica Field

I am a recent graduate of Miami University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and was a double major in Strategic Communications and International Studies (concentration in Western Europe).

As a student, I had so many wonderful opportunities, but the most rewarding experience was the chance to study abroad for a semester in Barcelona, Spain. I lived with a host family, attended a local university, volunteered my time at a local school for adults learning English, met with students for weekly language exchange sessions, and even found the time to travel throughout Europe and blog about my experience. It’s truly amazing what a semester abroad can do to improve your communication skills and I noticed a vast difference in my Spanish communication by the end of the semester!

Outside of the classroom, I enjoyed spending time with my team, the Miami Marlins Club Synchronized Swim Team, helping to create routines and perform them at competitions up to the national level. I loved learning new routines to every type of music and meeting other teams from across the country. I was also a member of the Miami University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and I have previously volunteered with Adopt-A-School working with adults to improve their English grammar skills.

When I’m not in school or at work, I love spending time trying new things and traveling. This past summer, I challenged myself to hot yoga and can’t wait to continue practicing! I have also traveled to six different states and two countries in the past year. My most recent trips included Colorado, Florida and the Bahamas. I love learning about the places I visit, meeting new people along the way and exploring local favorites (especially food!). I hope to return to Europe in the next few years to reconnect with my host family.
